Write a Sentence Artic Homework

Simple? Yes. Effective? Yes. Quick? Yes. Helps generalize? Yes.
Speech homework doesn't have to be difficult or time consuming to be effective.

This is a (very) simple homework assignment. I typically start it with my student then send it home with them to finish.

Free download at my TpT store HERE.

I can use it as part of my speech session by having them choose the words they want to practice (and saying that word 3x or in a brief sentence as I write it in), and by completing the first few sentences with them.
For some, I find me writing and them talking most effective, but I also like to encourage their independence and practice of the assignment (some parents will write and complete the assignment with their student, other students will be wholly responsible for their homework-no matter how young!).

    1. Perfect! I find this a good way to screen if there are artic issues impacting spelling, too. Some teachers will come to me with spelling tests saying "is this one an artic issue?" but I often get a little picture with small written work, like this homework, too.

  3. Great homework assignment. I typically do something very similar, but I write it up every time really fast before my group wanders in...or they make it on a blank piece of paper by writing down words to practice throughout therapy. For my more advanced artic kids, I have them write a story containing all of the words (3-5 sentences total).

    1. I really like your idea of having them write a short story! Can't wait to try it! When we practice saying multiple target words in many sentences, I usually cue it "silly sentence or story with your speech sound." I'll have to move that into homework practice!
